Obituary for Frank R. Ellsworth Jr.

Frank R. Ellsworth Jr.
WATERVLIET –Frank R. Ellsworth, Jr., our Knight in Shining Armor rested his sword on June 10, 2015 at the age of 46. He fought Esophageal Cancer with dignity and bravery to the end. Frank was born on June 14, 1968 and raised in Cohoes, (up on the hill) on Chestnut Street by his late parents Frank and Shirley Shulenberg Ellsworth.
At the age of 16 he started his long time career in the body shop/detailing business at Lussier's in Cohoes under his mentor and friend Brad Cuva. Frank went on to work at various car dealerships and eventually found his niche as owner and operator of Detail Solutions, where he became known as the Best Dam Detailer in the Capital District. He was currently employed at Manheim Albany in Clifton Park where for the last 7 years he was Supervisor of the Detail Shop and most recently a CR Writer.
In 2012 Frank became a member of Schuyler Heights Fire Department, where in a very short time he rose to the rank of Lieutenant and was awarded the Certificate of Valor for his role in a rescue at a structure fire (one of his proudest moments). He was named Firefighter of the Year in 2013 and 2014 and was currently the President of the Schuyler Heights Fire Company. He absolutely loved the brotherhood and regretted that he didn't join sooner. He was also a member of the Watervliet Elks and VFW, Columbkill Association and the Vagabond Club.
Frank loved fishing with his boys in his Dad's 1963 Viking Aluminum Boat and sitting around the campfire reminiscing. He was always ready for Friday nights with the guys @ Deacon Blues playing Quick Draw and having some cheer. He was an avid NY Giants fan and looked forward to the sixteen weeks of watching football with Chief Carroll. Sunday Fun days were his favorite, whether it be boating with his best bud's Gary and Kim, “Chillin' the Most” with his peeps on Burden Lake or just having family time with his kids and grandkids.
The family would like to thank Dr.Puleo, Dr.Garbo and the nursing staff at NYOH for the excellent care Frank received during his illness.
He is the beloved husband of Patricia “Trish” Jensen Ellsworth, devoted father of Collene Streicher of Ballston Spa, Frank R. Ellsworth, III and Steven Ellsworth both of Schaghticoke and Hollie Ellsworth (Brandon Brust) of Johnsonville, “Just Frank” to Billy (Deanna Miller) Kalteux and Nikki (Paul) LaBoissiere of Watervliet, adored grandfather of Bryton Brust, Peyton and Collin Kalteux, Mia Wood, Ella, Lanie and Vincent LaBoissiere, dear brother of Donna (Bill) Robitaille and Debra (Dave) Sanders of Cohoes and the late Darlene Morizio. Also survived by several nieces, nephews, cousins and brothers and sisters-in-laws.
The funeral with full fire departmental honors will be Tuesday at 10 am at the Parker Bros. Memorial, 2013 Broadway, Watervliet with Rev. Nick TeBordo officiating. Interment will follow in Memory Gardens, Colonie. Relatives and friends are invited and may call at the funeral home on Monday from 4-8 pm.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Schuyler Heights Fire Department, 900 First Street, Watervliet, NY 12189.
