Life Story for Elfriede M. "Ellen" Villa

LATHAM—Elfriede “Ellen” M. Villa, 90, passed away peacefully on Thursday morning at the Teresian House, surrounded by her loving family.
Elfriede was born in Ludwigshafen, Germany a daughter of the late Paolo and Magdalena Odenwalder. She lived as a homemaker caring for her husband and devoted family. She was an avid swimmer and was a member of the Turf Inn Swim Club. She was a voracious reader and an accomplished seamstress. Elfriede was loving, kind, funny and she will be deeply missed.
She was predeceased by her sisters, Elizabeth DiVivo and Bertl McCreary.
Survivors include her beloved husband of 69 years, Richard Villa; loving sons, Salvatore (Maria) Villa, Joseph (Joann) Villa and Richard (Barbara) Villa; cherished grandchildren, Richelle, Matthew, Kristen, Richard, Kathleen, Joseph, Nicole, Amanda, Michael, Samantha and Peter; 18 adoring great-grandchildren; she is also survived by many beloved nieces, nephews and wonderful friends.
The family would like to extend their sincere appreciation to the Sisters and staff at the Teresian House for their loving care and support shown to Elfriede during her stay.
Services will be private at the convenience of the family.
