Obituary for Dorothy Helen MacDonald (Knapp)
COHOES - Dorothy Helen (Knapp) MacDonald, 95, of Cohoes, died April 8, 2017. Predeceased by her parents, Helen and Andrew Knapp and her firstborn Dr. Lawrence H. MacDonald. She is survived by her children, Reverend Robert A. (Lori), Sheila Tinkler (late Ronald), Carol Stark (Charles) and grandchildren, Kara Taylor (Brian), Davis MacDonald (Christine), Beth Overton (Brent), Noel Hale (John), Tarra Harbour (Anthony), Denise Felt (Harold), John Tinkler and step-grandchildren, Deborah Fonteneau (Billy), Lisa Stark, Charles Stark, Christina Vertefeuille (John) and sixteen great-grandchildren.
Dorothy was employed by both Roxy and Commodore Cleaners but her favorite job was presiding as adored matriarch at numerous family gatherings. She will be greatly missed and fondly remembered.
A viewing will be held at the Parker Bros. Memorial in Watervliet on Friday from 4 until 7 PM during which a service of gratitude for her life will be held at 6:30 PM. Burial service on Saturday at 10 AM in Elmwood Hill Cemetery, Troy.
Donations, in memory of Dorothy, may be made to the Community Hospice, 310 S. Manning Blvd., Albany, NY 12208
