Obituary for Anna S. Holmes (Spock)

Anna S.  Holmes (Spock)
Concord, NH - Anna Spock Holmes, 92, of Loudonville NY, passed away in Concord, NH on the 11th of May 2017.

Anna was born in Sagon, PA on the 7th of March 1925. She graduated from Coal Township High School in Shamokin PA in 1943.

Anna was married to Robert J Holmes on the 11th of October 1947; they were married for 42 years before Robert’s passing in 1989. He was a former Past President of the St. Andrews Society of Albany.

Anna worked for Behr-Manning Corporation for many years before becoming a full time mother and homemaker. She was actively involved with and a founding member of Loudonville Community Church and taught Sunday School and Youth Group for many years. She enjoyed raising her two sons, gardening, flower arrangement, the international student organization at RPI and LCC Women’s Circle and Bible Study. She was also a member of the Clan Hume Society.

Anna is survived by her sons Robert L Holmes of Chichester, NH and Michael D Holmes of Burke, VA, their spouses Kathy and Marianne and her sisters Mary Rankin of Rochester NY and Helen Homitz of Phoenixville, PA.

Anna was preceded in death by her husband Robert J Holmes, her parents Michael and Mary (Spiak) Spock of Shamokin, PA and her brothers John Spock of Silver Spring, MD, Nickolas Spock and Michael Spock of Phoenixville, PA.

The funeral service will be held at 11 AM on Tuesday, 16th of May 2017 at the Bowen & Parker Brothers funeral home, 97 Old Loudon Road, Latham, NY. Visitation will be held from 4 until 8 PM on Monday, 15th of May 2017 at the Funeral Home. Burial will follow the funeral at Memory Gardens in Colonie.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to Wycliffe Bible Translators in the name of Grace Fabian to PO Box 628200 Orlando FL 32862 and The Evangelism for Christ Association in the name of Rev. Reg Dunlap to P.O. Box 8, Eliot ME 03903.
