WATERVLIET – Dorothy H. (Comproski) Rosekrans, 76, of the Hanratta Apartments, passed away on Saturday, May 27, 2017 at Samaritan Hospital in Troy.

Born in Watervliet on October 31, 1940, Dorothy was the daughter of the late John and Helen Balog Comproski. She was raised and educated in Watervliet where she was a life-long resident.

Dorothy was employed for 30 years by Seton Health in Troy before her retirement in 2006.

She enjoyed playing bingo in earlier times, spending her evening hours by visiting her friends, doing scratch-offs and having her family around her. She was a communicant of the former St. Patrick’s Church in Watervliet.

A special thank you to Mindy and all the nurses on the 5th floor of Samaritan Hospital who took such wonderful care of our mother.

She is survived by her children, Donna (Dennis) Toma of Latham, Dorine (Hank) Frenger and Donald (Kelly) Rosekrans both of Watervliet; grandchildren, Stephen and Anthony Franco, Kalee and Morgan Rosekrans, Ashly (Will) Holder and Amanda Childs; great-grandchildren, Stephen and Emma; sisters, Barbara (Bill) Rogers, Joan (Lou) Bisio and Madaline Comproski and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brothers and sisters, Jack Comproski, Mary Chaplin, Bob Comproski, Helen Bullis and Carol Jones.

Funeral from the Parker Bros. Memorial, 2013 Broadway, Watervliet on Tuesday at 10:30AM and at 11 AM in Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, Watervliet. Interment will be private. Friends are invited and may also visit with Dorothy’s family on Tuesday, prior to the service, at the funeral home from 9 until 10:30 AM.
