Obituary for Laurencia A. Prokrym (Dodge)

WATERVLIET – Laurencia Agnes Dodge Prokrym, 89, sun rose on January 4, 1928, her sun has set on June 25, 2017 as she left this physical world and entered the eternal spiritual world where she will continue to watch over her loved ones.
The definition of mother for our family was what our mother was to us. Unconditional love for her family was always felt by us children, their partners, and her four grandchildren throughout our lives. The mother we could always depend on, as we returned this gift back as she depended on us these last five years.
Our mom joined in marriage with Charles A. Prokrym on July 28, 1956. Our dad passed January 28, 2004. Our mom is survived by her devoted children, Sheila (Robert) Prokrym-Sloboda, Chuck (Barb) Prokrym and Laurie Prokrym. Her amazing grandchildren, especially in her eyes, Nicholas (Nicole) Sloboda, Hannah (Dylan) Sloboda, Natalie (Paul) Sloboda and Julia Sloboda. And luckily to meet her great-granddaughter, Layla Laurencia Sloboda, as she always said “the most gorgeous baby”.
Laurencia is survived by her sisters, Reinie Parker, Mildred Heid and brother Robert Dodge; her best friend and sister-in-law of 60 years, Helen Prokrym-Murawski. She was predeceased by her siblings, Alberta, Mary, George, Donald, Edward, Edmund and Francis.
Our mom was an “animal lover” and leaves behind her cats, Kristen and Princess which will continue to be well cared for.
Thank you Samaritan Hospital 6th floor nurses and Hospice staff.
Our mom will be missed everyday but we go on with confidence she continues to protect and watch over us all.
Funeral services will be private at the convenience of the family.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Mohawk & Hudson River Humane Society, 3 Oakland Avenue, Menands, NY 12204.
