Obituary for Albert Francis Esposito

TROY- Albert F. Esposito, 85, entered into eternal life on Friday, August 4, 2017 surrounded by the love of his family.
Born in Port Henry, NY, Albert was the son of the late Patrick and Antoinette (Scorsone) Esposito. He was raised and educated in Troy and was an Army veteran having served his country in Germany during the Korean War.
In 1952, Albert married the love of his life, the former Virginia Pearl Razzano at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Watervliet and together they enjoyed 65 years of married life.
Albert spent the majority of his life working as an electrician. He was employed by the former Norton/Nashua Corporation in Watervliet initially as an electrician’s helper and retired in 1997 holding the position of chief electrician. He was a member of the IBEW Local 236 in Troy.
Albert had a variety of interests and hobbies which included cooking, baking Italian delicacies, dancing, traveling, going out to dinner, bowling, pitching horseshoes, playing cards, especially hearts, and hunting. Above all else he loved his family and enjoyed the times spent with them.
He had, at one time, coached softball in Troy and was a former member of the Watervliet Lodge of Elks, Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Watervliet and, in his early years, St. Joseph’s Church in South Troy.
In addition to the beloved wife, Albert is survived by his loving children; Albert F. Esposito, Jr. (Linda) of Castleton, NY, Suzanne Plante of Cohoes, Patrick M. Esposito (Donna) of Troy, Antionette Marie Nelsen (Keven) of Mendon, MA and Frank Esposito (Mary) of Albany; his cherished grandchildren, Albert Esposito, III, Virginia Crosby-Mooney (Steve), Jennifer Plante, Stephanie Esposito, Dominic Esposito, Christine Da Silva (Tasso), Eric Nelsen, Frank Esposito, Angelina Bates (Tim), Kevin Sheldon (Lauren) and Brian Sheldon (Mallory); his adored great-grandchildren, Marissa Marie Esposito, Giovanni Angelo Esposito, Isabella Maria Plante, Anthony Franz, Marco Antonio Esposito and Eloise Eve Sheldon; his brother, Thomas Esposito of Watervliet; his sister, Patricia Durviage (George) of Troy as well as many nieces, nephews, grandnieces , grandnephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his brother, Joseph Esposito whose wife Sally survives and his sister Louise Sweet.
His funeral will be held on Wednesday at 10 am from the Parker Bros. Memorial, 2013 Broadway, Watervliet and will proceed to St. Augustine’s Church in Lansingburgh where the Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11am. The rite of committal and interment, with military honors, will take place in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Watervliet. Friends are invited to attend and may also visit with Albert’s family on Tuesday from 4 until 7 pm at the funeral home.
