Obituary for Carolyn Barbuto (Kruegler)

LATHAM – Carolyn K. Barbuto, 70, entered into eternal life on Saturday, August 19, 2017, surrounded by those who loved her.

Carolyn was born in Troy on August 17, 1947 and was the daughter of Margaret (Denue) Kruegler of Newtonville and the late Joseph Kruegler. Carolyn was raised in Newtonville and was a graduate of Shaker High School in Latham. Her first employment was with Samaritan Hospital in Troy, as a computer technician, and later she took employment with the State of New York retiring from the Thruway Authority as an information technology specialist.

In her earlier years Carolyn enjoyed league bowling and horseback riding.

Carolyn dedicated her retirement years to times spent with her family. Her husband, William, daughter, Carla, son-in-law, Scott and her six grandchildren all filled her heart with much pride. She loved each of them and they in turn loved her. Deeply loved she will be missed by many whose lives and hearts she touched.

Carolyn’s family wishes to offer a heartfelt thank you to the doctors, nurses and staff of the Albany Medical Center for the dedicated and compassionate care given to her and for the support offered to her family.

Carolyn was the beloved wife of the late William Anthony Barbuto who died on March 20, 2015 and was the loving mother of the late infant Joseph Barbuto.

In addition to her mother, she is survived by her loving daughter, Carla Barbuto-Burgess (Scott) of Latham; her six cherished grandchildren, Brittany, Danielle, Haleigh, Hannah, Christopher and Isabella; her dear sisters and brother, Joyce Quickenton (Phil) of Cohoes, Natalie Bedell (Mark) of Colorado Springs, CO and Stephen Kruegler ((Mary) of Latham; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Her funeral will be held from the Parker Bros. Memorial, 2013 Broadway, Watervliet on Tuesday at 10:15 am and at 11 am in Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish Church, 25th Street at 7th Avenue, Watervliet where the funeral Mass will be celebrated by the Reverend Donald L. Rutherford. Rite of Committal and interment will follow in the Gerald B.H. Solomon-Saratoga National Cemetery in Schuylerville. Friends are invited and may also visit with Carolyn’s family on Monday from 4 until 7 PM at the funeral home.
