Obituary for Maureen O. Wilming (O'Neill)

Clifton Park – Maureen O’Neill Wilming, 61, entered into eternal life on Tuesday evening, August 29, 2017 at her home surrounded by her loving family.

Maureen was born on October 30, 1955 in Troy, NY, the fourth of five daughters born to the late William A. and Elizabeth (Cummings) O’Neill. Maureen was raised in Watervliet where she attended St. Brigid’s School. She was a graduate of Catholic Central High School in Troy and furthered her education at the Sage Colleges in Albany. She later moved to Clifton Park.

Maureen dedicated her early life to her home and raising her children. In 1983, she took employment with the Freihofer Baking Company where she was currently employed as an executive assistant.

Maureen enjoyed travelling, boating on Lake George and catering to her friends and family. She was proud of her Irish heritage. Nothing was more important to her than her family and she focused much of her time and attention on them and her dear animals. Her love and dedication taught them so much and made each of their lives better.

Maureen’s family extends a heartfelt thank you to the NYOH nurses and staff for the wonderful care given to her throughout her illness; to our family and friends for the continuous care and support and to the Freihofer Baking Company, Maureen’s employer, who could not have been more supportive during this time.

Maureen is survived by her beloved husband, David G. Wilming; her children, Timothy (Kelley) Brennan of Greenfield Center, Kelly (Peter Castro) Brennan of Manhattan, Michael Wilming of Clifton Park, Matthew (Christine) Wilming of Clifton Park, Christopher Wilming of Salt Lake City, UT and Cassandra Wilming of Clifton Park; her grandchildren, Kimani and Indigo Castro; her sisters, Mary Beth and Jerry Leonard of Clifton Park, Joanne and Bill Burrows of Clifton Park, Kathleen and Kevin Mahoney of Utica and Jeanne and Chris Hoyt of Troy; her mother-in-law, Florence Wilming of Clifton Park; her sisters-in-law, Deborah (Clifford) Jorgenson of Charleton, Elizabeth Burton of Clifton Park and Phylicia Shoemaker of Niskayuna as well as many nieces, nephews, grand-nieces, grand-nephews and cousins.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, September 2, 2017 at 10 AM in the Church of St. Edward the Confessor, 569 Clifton Park Center Road, Clifton Park. A private interment will follow in the Clifton Park Center Baptist Cemetery. Friends are invited to attend and may also visit with Maureen’s Family on Friday from 4 until 7 PM at the Cummings Funeral Home, 643 Third Avenue (Route 32 south of the Arsenal) in Watervliet.

To remember Maureen in a special way, her family suggests a donation to the Lustgarten Foundation (for Pancreatic Cancer Research), 415 Crossways Park Drive, Suite D, Woodbury, NY 11797. Please indicate that your gift is in memory of Maureen.
