Obituary for Joyce T. Plume (Twiss)

Albany – Joyce T. Plume, 88, formerly of Loudonville, passed away on Wednesday, October 11, 2017. Born in Albany on August 11, 1929, Joyce was the daughter of the late Clifford I. and Ruth Hallenbeck Twiss. Raised and educated in Albany, she was a graduate of Albany High School. Joyce
moved to Loudonville in 1962 and was employed as an account clerk for 17 years with several state agencies and retired from the office of Substance Abuse Services in 1981. Joyce was a member of the Newtonville United Methodist Church and sang in the church choir, enriching the music with beautiful alto tones. She was also a member of the Capitol Hill Choral Society and the Festival of Praise Choir in Albany. She enjoyed cross country skiing and water color painting and was an avid Mets fan.

Joyce was the wife of the late David P. Plume. She was also preceded in death by her siblings, Dorothy Isachsen, Irving E., Edwin H., and Herbert S. Twiss, Anna Bennetts and Ellen O’Connell. She is survived by her daughter, Deborah J. Plume (Robert Kertzman) of Plymouth, MA/Bradenton, FL and her son, David S. Plume of Wilmington, NC; her twin sister, Janice E. Chichester of Slingerlands; and over 100 nieces and nephews of four generations.

A service will be held on Monday, October 16 at eleven o’clock in the Newtonville United Methodist Church, 568 Loudon Road, (corner of Route 9 and Maxwell Road), Newtonville; The Reverend Steven Smith will officiate. Interment will follow in Memory Gardens, Colonie. Friends are invited to visit with Joyce’s family on Sunday, October 15 from 3pm until 5pm at the Bowen & Parker Brothers Funeral Home, 97 Old Loudon Road in Latham.
