Obituary for Thomas William Parker

Albany - Thomas William Parker, 79, of Albany, passed away peacefully on October 10, 2017. Born in Troy on March 18, 1938, he was the son of the late Thomas and Helen Parker. Thomas worked for KeyBank for 40 years until his retirement. When not at work, he enjoyed fishing, golfing, the Saratoga Race Course, and spending winters in Florida after his retirement. Thomas was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather who will be sorely missed by his family and all those who were lucky enough to have known him.
Thomas is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Barbara Cunha Parker, his children; Nancy Parker, Thomas Parker, and Christine Parker, his grandchildren; Erika Applebaum, Ian Parker, Sean Parker, and Cara Parker, his siblings; Michael (Carol) Parker, Joseph (Jayne) Parker, and his brother-in-law, Ronald Green. He was preceded in death by his sister, Helen Green and his aunt, Elizabeth McMahon.
A memorial mass will be held Friday, October 27th at 10 AM at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish, Watervliet. In lieu of flowers those who wish to remember Thomas in a special way may make a donation to St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital, 501 St Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105, or to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research, Donation Processing, P.O. Box 5014, Hagerstown, MD 21741-5014.
