Obituary for Laverne Margaret Wachunas

Florida – Heaven gained an angel on Sunday October 15, 2017. Laverne Margaret Wachunas, 90, passed away peacefully at Manatee Memorial Hospital in Bradenton, Florida. She was greeted in heaven by her parents, Bill and Winifred Wiggins, her husband Walter Wachunas, her sons, Charles and Thomas Wachunas, her daughter-in-law Joyce Wachunas, her grandson David Wachunas, her great-grandson Andrew Huff, and her long term companion Frank Wydronkowsky. Laverne is survived by her son Gary Wachunas, her grandchildren; Bobby Wachunas, Tammy Richards, Chuck (Renee) Wachunas, Darcy Kasianczuk, Tom Wachunas, and Sheri (Mitch) Huff. She is also survived by many adoring great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. There was nothing Laverne enjoyed more than spending time with her family, especially around the holidays. Her family would like to extend a special thank-you for all those who cared for her in her final days; Sharon, Debbie, Terri, Shannon, and the entire staff at Our Home at Ware’s Creek in Bradenton, Florida.

A funeral service will be held Friday, October 20,, 2017 at 11:00 AM at Parker Bros. Memorial Funeral Home, Watervliet. Friends and relatives may visit with Laverne’s family at the funeral home before the service, from 10:30 until 11:00 AM. Interment will follow in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Watervliet. In lieu of flowers, those who wish to remember Laverne in a special way may consider a donation to a charity of one’s choice.
