Obituary for Maureen Ann Murray (Glynn)

Maureen Ann Glynn Murray, 75, passed away Sunday, October 22, 2017 at Samaritan Hospital in Troy, NY. A Watervliet native, Maureen lived most of her life in Watervliet. From 1995 until 2011, she lived in Colorado Springs. Maureen attended Catholic Central High School and Hudson Valley Community College, and worked as an auditor for the Internal Revenue Service in Albany. However, her grandchildren and great-grandchildren gave her the most joy. Maureen faced numerous obstacles raising five children but was a strong woman who overcame those obstacles, empowering her children to become strong adults. Maureen was an amazing woman, the rock of her family, admired for her perseverance and resilience. Maureen was preceded in death by her brothers, John and James, son-in-law, Gary Heffner, and granddaughters Lauren Elizabeth Moore and Nichole Julia Moore. She is survived by her children, Colleen Marie Heffner, Kimberly Ann Moore, Francis Robert “Butch” (Gina), Michael Edward (Susan), and Kathleen Elizabeth Murray-Leet (Barry), her grandchildren, Barry James Heffner, Zachary Alexander Heffner, Patrick Stephen Moore, Jr., Christopher Robert Moore, Kyle James Murray, Matthew Ryan Murray, Andrew Colin Murray, Emma Caroline Murray, Carmella Jean Murray, Kyrsten Lyn St. Pierre, and Helen Marie Leet, and great grandchildren, Jayden Taylor Rathbun, Lillie Elizabeth Heffner, Emeri Jane Heffner, and Amarii Alejandra Patricia Heffner.
Visitation will be Thursday, October 26, 2017 from 4pm to 8pm at Parker Bros. Memorial Funeral Home at 2013 Broadway, Watervliet. A funeral will be held Friday, October 27, 2017 at 10am at the funeral home with interment in St. Patrick’s Cemetery immediately following. In lieu of flowers, Maureen’s family requests donations to the American Heart Association, 4 Atrium Dr. #100, Albany, NY 12205.
