COLONIE – Mark Anthony Phillips, 55, passed away unexpectedly on October 28, 2017 at his home.
Born in Troy, NY on February 28, 1962, Mark was the son of the late James F. and Sandra J. (McGrath) Phillips, Sr. He was raised in Waterford and attended St. Mary’s School and Shenendehowa High School.
Mark was employed for more than 20 years in the home improvement industry and at the time of his passing was employed as the general sales manager and was recognized as an award winning salesman for Phillips Home Solutions in Colonie where he worked, with his brothers, for the past eleven years.
Mark had an appreciation for bodybuilding and in his younger years participated in numerous competitions for which he won many awards. He also loved fishing, hunting, trapping, cooking and cars. He had a quick wit and a great sense of humor and was a good friend to many. Above everything else he enjoyed, Mark appreciated his family the most. He was an awesome family man.
Mark was the proud and loving father to his daughter Jenna Rose Phillips of Valatie and to his son, Steven T. (Ashley Sitcer) Wolfe of Valatie; cherished grandfather of Kya Wolfe; devoted brother of James F. (Susan) Phillips, Jr. of Troy and Christopher J. (Carole) Phillips of Waterford; special uncle of Anne, Sarah and Sophia Phillips. He is also survived by several aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Friends are invited to visit with Mark’s family at the Philip J. Brendese Funeral Home, 133 Broad Street, Waterford on Friday from 4 until 7 pm. The evening will conclude with a prayer service at 7 pm. Following a private cremation, Mark will be interred with his parents at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Waterford.
