Obituary for Constance M. Martell (James)

CAMBRIDGE, NY – Constance M. (James) Martell, 79, passed away on November 15, 2017 at Saratoga Hospital.

Born in Troy, Constance was the daughter of the late J. Wilson James and Marion (McGlynn) James. She was a graduate of the former St. Patrick’s School in Watervliet and Catholic Central High School in Troy.

Constance resided in Watervliet for most of her life and more recently in Whitehall, NY. At the time of her death, she was residing in the Mansion at South Union in Cambridge, NY.

Constance was employed as a licensed practical nurse at the Childs Nursing Home in Albany for more than 30 years before her retirement.

She enjoyed skating, hunting, fishing and was talented at knitting and crocheting. She also enjoyed crossword puzzles and computer games.

In addition to her parents, she was pre-deceased by her son, Matthew and grandson, Nathan.

Constance is survived by her loving sons, Mark Martell of Whitehall, Michael Martell of Menands and Mitchell Martell of Whitehall; her brother, Robert (Irene) James of Maryland; her grandchildren, Natasha, Christina, Kevin, Sarah, Matthew, Maci, Meghan and Breanna. She is also survived by five great-grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held on Monday at 7 pm in the Parker Bros. Memorial, 2013 Broadway, Watervliet. Friends are invited and may also call at the funeral home on Monday, before the service, from 4 until 7 pm. A private interment will be held in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Watervliet.
