Obituary for Jennifer Lee Schroeder

WYNANTSKILL – Jennifer Lee “Mama Jen” Schroeder, 46, died peacefully Sunday, January 14, 2018 at her home with her family at her side after she renewed her vows and attended a celebration of her life gathering of family and friends.
She was born in Troy on August 25, 1971, the beloved daughter of James Catone, Sr. of Wynantskill and the late Jean E. Peters Catone. She was raised in Wynantskill and was a graduate of Averill Park High School. After raising her six children, she returned to school and graduated from Hudson Valley Community College with an Associate’s in Science. Jennifer received numerous awards (i.e. WE@HVCC Mother’s Day scholarship & History, Philosophy, & Social Sciences Excellence Award in Research), as well as maintained President’s list grades throughout her college pursuit.
She was employed by the Berger Aviation Group in Albany, Wine-Skill Wine & Spirits and most recently was a service manager for Grapes & Grains Wine & Spirits in East Greenbush.
She was an amazing artist, played several musical instruments and was a very good singer. She enjoyed camping and was a genuine good person who provided unconditional love to all that she met and was never judgmental.
She is the beloved wife of 28 years of Kenneth P. Schroeder, III; loving mother of Jenaliegh, Victoria, Danielle, Samantha, Patrick and Angelitta Schroeder all of Wynantskill; adored grandmother of Jasmine “Little Miss” Schroeder; dear sister of Harry E. (Sherry) Horton, Jr. of Lanesboro, MA and John T. Horton, Sr. of East Greenbush. She was the care provider and “mother” of several other children that she raised and is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank Dr. Maingi and the staff of the Hildegard Medicus Cancer Center and everyone at Grapes & Grains for the wonderful love and support given to Jennifer.
Funeral services were held privately at the convenience of the family. The family is forever grateful for everyone that attended the Celebration of Life Service for Jennifer held on Sunday.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Hildegard Medicus Cancer Center, 1300 Massachusetts Avenue, Troy, NY 12180.
