Obituary for Emily May Ogden (Marcotte)

WATERVLIET – Emily May Ogden, 88, passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 11, 2018.
She was born in St. Johnsbury, Vermont on May 17, 1929, the daughter of the late Catherine and George Marcotte. May was the last surviving family member of 14 kids.
Survivors include her loving husband of 65 years, Edward J. Ogden; her children, Eddie (Deb Schnare), Karen Ogden-O’Connell (Paul), Bill (Tammy), Sue Ogden-Leggett (Mark), Ann Ogden-McDonough (Ned) and John (Beth); her grandchildren, Jen Ogden, Lauren Corcoran, Ryan O’Connell, Kathryn O’Connell, Rory Schmit, Kelsey Govel, Sean Ogden, Casey Ogden, Kerry Leggett, Bryan Leggett, Matt McDonough, Jillian McDonough, Shayla Ogden and Kelly Ogden; her great grandchildren, Cayden Billings and Derek Corcoran.
She graduated from St. Johnsbury Academy and was very proud of her alma mater. She worked at several different jobs including the Watervliet Arsenal where she met her husband Ed, New York State, the Boston Store, Montgomery Wards and retired from the Watervliet Housing Authority.
Some of her hobbies were sewing, stitchwork, knitting, gardening, baking, shopping and cooking-especially her Sunday family dinners. She was a perfectionist in her crafts.
Her greatest joy was being surrounded by her huge, loving family.

PLEASE NOTE THE FUNERAL MASS SCHEDULED FOR THURSDAY, MARCH 15TH AT 10 AM AT OUR LADY OF THE ASSUMPTION CHURCH HAS BEEN CANCELLED DUE TO A FAMILY MEDICAL EMERGENCY.
