Obituary for Christina F. Caruso (Sciotti)

WATERVLIET - Chris Caruso, 68, of Watervliet, passed peacefully in her sleep early Tuesday morning, March 13, 2018. She was born on Nov 08, 1949, to the late Leonard Sciotti & Marion Tyll, raised by stepfather John E Tyll. She was married to Mike Caruso who predeceased her in 2011.
Chris was a caring person who would let you know what she thought. Chris was a hairstylist who worked with her late husband (Mike) for thirty years at Mike’s Cut & Styles and later at Caruso’s Hair Systems, later working with her sister (Luanne). She had loyal customers who she considered friends. Sometimes a haircut was entertaining when she interacted with her sister.
Ten years ago she started selling wigs, mainly for cancer patients. She was devoted to bringing joy and comfort to her wig customers in their time of need.
Chris enjoyed football, baseball and the occasional trip to the racino. Chris also enjoyed spending time with many of her friends.
Chris is survived by her beloved children Michael Caruso, Michelle Caruso (Ralph), they were always there for her. Chris is also survived by her grandchildren Joshua, Mark, & Austin. Chris was more than a Grandmother to Josh, she had a special place in her heart for him. Chris raised him as though he was her son. Chris is also survived by her sisters Luanne Sciotti (Shiela Kordana), Lori Conley (Frank & Erin). Also survived by her brothers Joseph Sciotti (Shirley), Leonard Sciotti (Jane), Dominick Sciotti (deceased) and many, many friends too many to mention.
Thanks to the Doctors and Nurses at Samaritan Hospital for their care and concern in her final days. Thanks to Dean in the IR Department of Samaritan for the extra care he gave her.
Funeral services are private at the convenience of the family.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, Hope Club of the Capital Region, One Penny Lane, Latham, NY 12110.
Arrangements are by the Parker Bros. Memorial in Watervliet.
