Obituary for Daniel J. Moore

Menands, NY – Daniel Joseph Moore, 93, entered into eternal life, on Saturday, March 17, 2018 at his home in Menands.

Born in Albany, the son of the late William E. and Catherine (Dugan) Moore, Daniel had been a resident of Menands since the age of 2. Upon the completion of his education, he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps and served his country during World War II in the Pacific Theater.

Upon his return home from military service, Daniel took employment with the Village of Menands then, at his father’s request, went to work for W. H. Smith Paper Company, where he worked for 16 years. He later returned to work with the Village of Menands and retired from the pumping department in 1984.

He was a member of the Watervliet City Post 729 VFW, Watervliet BPOE #1500, Menands American Legion, Menands Fire Company (Life Member) and was a communicant of St. Joan of Arc Church, Menands.

He was the beloved husband of Anna R. (Pascucci) Moore who died in 2000; dear brother of the late Charles E. Moore, William J. Moore and Katherine Kelly.

He is survived by several nieces and nephews.

Services will be held privately and interment will be in St. Agnes Cemetery, Menands.
