Obituary for Karen A. Murphy (Pyska)

CLIFTON PARK – Karen A. Murphy (Pyska) of Clifton Park passed away peacefully on her 57th birthday, April 18, 2018 at St. Peter’s Hospice Inn surrounded by her loving family.
Born and raised in Clifton Park, she was a graduate of Shenendehowa High School. She began her working career at Carvel in Clifton Park, and later started her own cleaning business Kare “N” Kleening and most recently was a caregiver for Home Instead Senior Care.
Karen was a truly unique and caring individual and loyal friend who brightened the lives of all that knew her. Karen was known as a car enthusiast and enjoyed rides on her custom Harley. She enjoyed watching and rooting for her favorite teams, the Dallas Cowboys and the New York Yankees. She was an avid “Bigfoot” believer and was determined to prove his existence.
She was predeceased by her beloved son Patrick Robert Murphy; her parents, Joseph and Patricia Pyska and her mother in law, Lorraine Murphy.
She is survived by her husband, Robert J. Murphy; her siblings, Joseph Pyska (Vickie), Donna Bishop (Lloyd), Janet Coons (Curtis) and Patricia Levine (Steve); her best friend, Patti DeMio. She is also survived by her cherished nieces and nephews and her beloved dog, Sophie.
Along her journey Karen met her challenges with grace, humor, and a positive attitude. Our family would like to thank Katie, Julie and all of the staff at St. Peter’s Hospice for the compassionate care they provided.
Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Karen’s family on Friday (today) from 5-8 pm at the Parker Bros. Memorial, 2013 Broadway, Watervliet. Her funeral mass will be Saturday at 9 am at St. Mary’s Church of Crescent, 86 Church Hill Road in Halfmoon. Interment will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Waterford.
