Obituary for Vincenza M. "Jennie" Testo (Pascale)

Her family was her life. Sunday dinners were weekly feasts with Jennie preparing the entire meal and then cleaning all the pots, pans, and dishes before everyone departed, usually with leftovers for all.
TROY – Vincenza “Jennie” M. Pascale Testo, 97, died peacefully, Friday, April 20, 2018 at the Van Rensselaer Manor with her family at her side. Born in Watervliet on March 20, 1921, she was the daughter of the late Luca and Mary Pascarella Pascale.
Jennie was educated in the Watervliet School District. As a young girl, she was employed as a seamstress by Cluett Peabody in Troy. Along with her husband Tony, Jennie was the co-proprietor of Tony’s Luncheonette on 4th and Washington Streets in Troy, Inferno Pizzeria in Colonie and Testo’s Macaroni House & Pizzeria in Latham. She was a very hard worker who never complained, was always diligent and determined, and who, by her high moral compass, set an example for her family that sustains all of us left to cherish her memory.
In later years she was a homemaker. Her family was her life. It was essential for her to bring the family together every week. Sunday dinners were our feasts. Jennie prepared the entire meal and cleaned all the pots, pans, and dishes before everyone departed, usually with leftovers for everyone.
She was a communicant of St. Mary’s and Sacred Heart Church both in Troy. She was a member of the Italian Community Center in Troy and was a member of the Bocce League and also enjoyed bowling.
She was the beloved wife of 52 years of the late Anthony F. Testo, Sr. who died in 1998; loving mother of Dominick F. (Anne) Testo of East Greenbush, Thomas A. (Susan) Testo and Anthony F. (Kris) Testo, Jr. both of Troy; adored grandmother of Sandra (Kevin) Cioffi, Justin (Tanya) Testo, Corinna Testo, Roslyn (Jay) Cardish, Vincenza (John) Clark, Tracey Testo, Tory Testo and the late Anthony Testo; great grandmother of Luke, Kamryn and Max Cioffi, Anthony and Salvatore Testo and Tommy Cardish; dear sister of Elizabeth Del Torto and Ralph Pascale both of Watervliet, Vincent Pascale of Cohoes and the late Anthony Pascale. Jennie is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be Wednesday at 9:15 am at the Parker Bros. Memorial, 2013 Broadway, Watervliet and at 10 am at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, Watervliet where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Interment St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Watervliet. Relatives and friends are invited and may call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 4-7 pm.
