WATERVLIET – Daniel Thomas Deguire, 56, died suddenly Thursday, June 21, 2018. He was born in Troy on November 30, 1961, the second child of Paul J. Deguire, Sr. of Watervliet and the late Norine E. Kelly Deguire.
Dan grew up on Manor Place in Port Schuyler and was a graduate of St. Brigid’s School. He attended Christian Brothers Academy and later graduated in 1981 from Watervliet High School where he played outside linebacker for the Watervliet Cannoneers football team.
Dan was a self-employed carpet and flooring installer for all of his life. He could often be found in his backyard as the “lifeguard of the Manor Place pool”.
In addition to his father Paul, he is survived by his two daughters, Tiffany Deguire (Brandon Medina) of Kings Mountain, North Carolina and Sarah Deguire of Albany; four brothers, P.J. (Kathy) Deguire of Watervliet, Michael (Rodney) Deguire of Snyders Lake, Thomas (Jeanne) Deguire of Loudonville and Kevin (Michele) Deguire of Rotterdam; his sister, Patricia (John) Lapishka of Niskayuna; and the mother of his children, Teresa Stevens of Albany. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends may call at the Parker Bros. Memorial, 2013 Broadway, Watervliet on Tuesday from 4-7 pm. A funeral service will follow the calling hours at 7 pm with Father Donald Rutherford officiating.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Watervliet Civic Center, PO Box 164, Watervliet, NY 12189.
