Condolences

Condolence From: Lois Gundrum
Condolence: Dear Val, John, and Henry,

I am so, so sorry to hear about Henry's passing. He's been on my mind and I planned to call him to see how things were going ... now it's too late. The last time I saw him, he had lost a lot of weight, but the way he talked, it sounded like stress was the cause.

Henry was an exceptional man. He was kind-hearted and was a great friend to my father. He was the person who discovered my father on the night he broke his hip and he visited him often in the nursing home. After my father died, he continued to be a friend to me, helping me with different odd jobs around the house ... things I had no knowledge about or that were too difficult for me to do. It seemed that Henry knew, or could figure out, just about anything.

He liked to sit and talk and always had good things to say about all of you. He was so proud of his grandson and, from the way he spoke, he loved getting together with family.

My friend, Ruth, met Henry a few times and she said that, had she known of his passing, she would have come to his funeral. I would have been there, too, but I didn't know, and am very sorry.

Please accept my most deeply felt condolences at Henry's passing. I wish you all much love and peace.

Sincerely,
Lois
