Obituary for Peter David Nichols

Hancock - Peter D. Nichols, 60, passed away November 22, 2017 surrounded by his loving family. He is the son of the late Clayton and Joan Nichols. Peter was the third of seven children; Christine, Clayton, Kevin, Paul, Suzette and Annette and a lifelong resident of Hancock, MA.
Peter worked almost his entire career for JH Maxymillian as a Large Equipment Operator and Welder. He traveled extensively performing environmental remediation, accompanying the remediation plant to various locations throughout the US and Hong Kong.
Peter was an avid fisherman and hunter; a true outdoorsman. He loved his family and was first to lend a helping hand. He spent all his free time with family, fishing at Lake Winnipesaukee & Pontoosuc Lake, hunting, and at family gatherings. Peter was a master woodworker and enjoyed making beautiful items for family and friends.
Peter’s greatest loves were his nieces, nephews, great-nephew and great-niece. He loved each and every one as if they were his own. He celebrated all their accomplishments and guided them with love and encouragement. Peter was a true gift to all who knew him and we were all blessed to know such a kind, witty and loving man.
Calling hours will be Thursday, November 30, 2017 from 4 until 7 PM at Hall & Higgins Funeral Home, 457 NY Route 43, Stephentown. A memorial service will be held to honor Peter’s life at a later date. Donations in his memory can be made to the Berkshire Coalition for Suicide Prevention, BCSP, Inc. P.O.
