Obituary for Raymond Paul Robillard

Troy – Raymond Paul Robillard passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, March 10, 2018 with his family by his side. He was 61 years old.

Raymond was born in Troy, the son of the late David and Rose (Czarnecki) Robillard, and was raised in Watervliet where he was a graduate of the former Immaculate Conception School and Watervliet High School. He furthered his education at Hudson Valley Community College and took employment with Al Tech Specialty Steel in Watervliet where he worked for many years. Raymond was later employed as a truck driver by several area trucking firms and most recently worked, as a manager, for Gate Gourmet/Aramark at the Albany Rensselaer Amtrak Station.

Ray was a member of the Legnard-Curtin American Legion Post # 927 in Green Island and the All Troy Athletic Club. He enjoyed cooking and often volunteered his skill at functions and events held at the American Legion Post. Ray also enjoyed telling a good joke, golf, darts, quiet times at home while enjoying a scotch and water, his canine companion Scotch, solving crossword puzzles and playing computer games. Above all else Ray enjoyed spending time with his granddaughters who filled his heart with pride.

He was the loving father of Nicole Durrick, David Robillard (Alisha) and Amanda Robillard; the cherished grandfather of Elana, Kairi and Raelynn; devoted brother of the late Robert Robillard whose wife Lucy survives, the late Ronald Robillard (late Linda) and the late Rodney Robillard whose wife Robin survives. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews as well as many dear and special friends, especially Jim Stalker.

Friends are invited to visit with Raymond’s family on Friday from 4 until 7 pm at the Parker Bros. Memorial, 2013 Broadway in Watervliet. A brief prayer service will conclude the evening following which a private cremation will be held.
