WEST LEBANON, NY – Joseph C. DeBella, 85, died peacefully Thursday, April 26, 2018 at his daughter’s home in Pittsfield. Born in Hudson on March 23, 1933, he was the son of the late Cosimo and Genevieve Prentice DeBella.
He was raised and educated in Chatham, NY and was a US Air Force veteran of the Korean War. He was employed by General Electric in Pittsfield for 18 years and was the owner of DeBella’s Mobile Home Park in West Lebanon. He was a member of the Chatham American Legion Post and enjoyed fishing and loved his cats.
He is the beloved husband of 60 years of Dorothy Liebenow DeBella; loving father of Joseph (Lexi) DeBella of East Berne, NY, Dorothy DeBella (Mike Hover) of Pittsfield, Michael (Margaret) DeBella and Teresa “Pete” (late William) Darcy both of West Lebanon and the late Anthony DeBella; proud grandfather of Michael and Thomas Ozga (Paula Marchetto) and one great grandchild on the way; brother of Salvatore (Cecelia) DeBella of FL, Lucy Pechtal of CA, Donny (Raymona) Griffin of New Lebanon and the late John DeBella and David and Jim Griffin; uncle of Joann and Deanna Lynn.
The family would like to thank Denise Cox Kozlowski and all of the nurses at BMC and Hospice for their loving care of dad.
The funeral mass will be Monday at 11am at the Immaculate Conception Church, 732 Rt. 20, New Lebanon. Friends may call prior to the mass at church from 10-11 am. Interment Cemetery of the Evergreens, New Lebanon.
