Obituary for Harry Jay Walton Sr.

TROY – Harry J. Walton, Sr. passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, June 6, 2018 at his home. He was 60 years old.

Harry was born in Albany on August 20, 1957 and was the son of Harry M. and Jean E. (Hodges) Walton. He was raised and educated in Troy, having graduated from Troy High School with the Class of 1976.

Over the years Harry enjoyed employment in various fields of work. Initially, he was an apartment manager in Troy and later worked for Albany Steel Corporation and independently as a jeweler.

As a talented jeweler, Harry enjoyed manufacturing and fabricating beautiful pieces of jewelry. He had an appreciation for cooking, collecting art and antiques, classic rock, Harley Davidson Motorcycles and the North American Bald Eagle.

Harry was a former patch holder with the 69ers Biker’s Club of Troy.

Harry leaves behind his two sons, Harry J. Walton, II and his fiancé Robin Rock of Melrose and her son Darryl K. Rock, Jr., Jason T. Moran of Latham; his brothers, David A. Walton and Douglas S. Walton both of Troy as well as several nieces.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Diane J. Farny.

A service will be held for Harry on Monday at 7 pm in the Parker Brothers Memorial, 2013 Broadway, Watervliet. Friends are invited to attend and may also visit with Harry’s family on Monday from 5 until 7 pm, prior to the service. Cremation will be held privately.
