Obituary for Pamela E. Waterbury (DeGeorge)

Watervliet – Pamela E. (DeGeorge) Waterbury, 66, passed peacefully on Friday, June 15, 2018 with her family at her side.

Born in Albany, Pamela was the daughter of the late Louis A. DeGeorge, Sr. and Elizabeth (Phillips) DeGeorge. She was raised in North Albany and was a 1970 graduate of Cardinal McCloskey High School. She was employed in the administrative office for Albany County Opportunity, Inc. and more recently as a surgery coordinator for Kansas Eye Surgery.

Pamela leaves her family and friends with many happy memories which include, but are not limited to, her love for her family and of cooking, entertaining, shopping and decorating. Christmas was her favorite holiday and making it special for everyone was her primary goal. Her generosity had no limits and her dedication to everyone’s happiness was always evident. She was talented at creating costumes, throwing the best birthday parties and making crafts. Her laugh was infectious and the love she shared was desired by all. She was so highly thought of that many of her family and friends requested her to be the godmother of their children. Pamela was a faith-filled woman who loved her Catholic faith and enjoyed serving as a Eucharistic minister. She was a member of the Italian-American Community Center in Troy.

A heartfelt and special thank you is offered to St. Peter’s Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, especially Rosalie, and to the Community Hospice for the care given to Pamela.

Pamela was the much loved mother of Elizabeth (Herb) Vazquez of Albany; sister of, her twin, Patricia M. Preston of Ravena, Joseph VanValkenburg of Berne, Claire Bradley of East Greenbush, Carolyn DeCerce of Albany and the late John and Michael Gaglioti and Louis A., Jr. and Jack DeGeorge; sister-in-law of Joe Bradley, Donna Gaglioti, Joanne Grabowski, Donna Luce and Alicia Nieves; cherished aunt of Maria (Joe) Poole, Thomas Preston, Phillip Preston and Angela Marie (Mike) Preston and several other loving nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews. She was the loving fiancée of the late Joseph Granato.

The funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday at 1 pm in the Church of the Blessed Sacrament, Albany. Rite of committal and entombment will follow in St. Agnes Cemetery, Menands. Friends are invited to attend and may also visit with Pamela’s family on Monday from 10 am until 12 pm at the Parker Bros. Memorial in Watervliet.
