Obituary for Albert Allen Hoffman

Petersburgh – Albert Allen Hoffman, 85, of Petersburgh, passed away Sunday morning, August 5, 2018, at Van Rensselaer Manor. Born in Cherry Plain in 1933, he was the son of the late Michael and Abigail Hoffman.
Albert was a lifelong resident of rural Rensselaer County. From a young age he worked as a dairy farmer on his family’s farm in Cherry Plain. He left the farm to begin working construction. Both of these jobs instilled Albert with a hard-working ethic that remained with him throughout his entire life. When not hard at work, Albert enjoyed hunting, fishing, trapping, gardening, chopping firewood, and pretty much anything that would take him outside. While these hobbies brought him much joy, nothing made Albert happier than spending time with his beloved family. He was a family man who will be missed greatly by his family and dear friends.
Albert is survived by his three children; Sheila (Michael) Lisk of Glenfield, Laura Suttie of Petersburgh, and Linda Livingstone of Ballston Spa, his grandchildren; Alex Lisk, Evan Lisk, Andrea Lisk, Andrew Suttie, Samantha Suttie, Ashley Livingstone, and Adam Livingstone, his great-grandchildren; Ascha, Cooper, Grace, Aria, Rory, Caleb, Aaliyah, and William, his lifelong friends; Rich Sicko of Petersburgh, David and Willie Bink of Petersburgh, and Eric Vincent of Florida, and by his beloved canine companion, Mia. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Beverly Hoffman, who passed in 2014, and by his late siblings, Mary Haywood and Leonard Hoffman.
A visitation will be held from 5 until 7 PM on Tuesday, August 7 at Hall and Higgins Funeral Home, 457 NY Route 43, Stephentown. A graveside service will be held Wednesday, August 8 at 11 AM at Berlin Community Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, those who wish to remember Albert in a special way may consider a donation to the Berlin Rescue Squad, PO Box 269, Berlin, NY 12202.
