Obituary for Michael Fred Canastra

On Saturday, December 8, 2018, Michael Fred Canastra, loving son and brother, passed away peacefully at age 51 at Albany Medical Center. Mike, beloved son of Howard and Raye Canastra, Sr. (Schoharie) and Barbara Jean Schwab (Bakersfield, CA) was born on April 13, 1967. He is survived by his brother Howard (Carla) Canastra Jr., sister Christine (Kal) Haglund, sister Karen (Tony) Olmo, brother Daniel (Ann) Canastra, girlfriend Pat Fonda and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Mike worked 17 years for the Freihoffer/Bimbo company and will be greatly missed by his wonderful work family as well as by many dear friends.
A memorial service will be held in the Spring. Donations can be sent in memory of Michael Canastra to the American Diabetes Association, 2 Pine West Plaza, Albany, NY 12205.
