Obituary for Ida Wiese (Mohos)

KATONAH, NY – Ida Mohos Wiese, 93, died peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family on Sunday, June 2, 2019.

Born in Papanyoger, Hungary, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Ida Tinger Mohos. During World War II, she fled to Germany for 3 years before emigrating to the United States where she settled in Katonah and has lived most of her life. She was a homemaker.

She was the wife of the late Peter Fritz Wiese, Sr. who died in 1994; beloved mother of Monica I. Wiese of Katonah, Sharon M. Peura of Pound Ridge, Peter Fritz (Amera) Wiese, Jr. of Stormville and Owen (Mary Lane) Wiese of Armonk; grandmother of Amelia Peura and Lyndsey Wiese; sister of Elza (late Bob) Anderson, Maria (late Frank) Zwack, Frank (Pat) Mohos, Julianne Mayer, Elizabeth Rudolph and the late Henry Mayer. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends may call at the Hall & Higgins Funeral Home, 457 NY 43, Stephentown, NY on Friday, June 7th from 9:30-10:45 am followed by a funeral mass at 11:00 am at St. Joseph’s Church in Stephentown. Interment will follow in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Stephentown.
