WATERVLIET – Angeline D. Cassaro DiBacco, 85, died peacefully Saturday, February 1, 2020 at the Sherman Oaks Hospital in Los Angeles, CA with her family at her side. She was born in Albany on March 30, 1934, the daughter of the late Santo and Josephine Trefiletti Cassaro.

She was a graduate of Philip Schuyler High School in Albany. She was employed for over 30 years by the State of New York in Taxation & Finance, NYS Senate and last by the Legislative Bill Drafting Commission retiring in 1989.

Following her marriage to Tony DiBacco of Maplewood, they raised their family on Avenue A in Watervliet. She was a communicant of the former Sacred Heart of Mary Church in Watervliet and was an active member of the Troy Italian Community Center where she was in the Bocci League and also participated in a co-ed bowling league with her husband.

Angie loved her house on Avenue A and enjoyed gardening around her home, cooking her secret sauce and meatball recipe, walking around Watervliet and watching her children and grandchildren’s sporting and school events. She enjoyed the simple things like sitting at her dining room table drinking coffee and talking for hours with her friends and relatives. She also loved music and dancing. She was always dancing with her grandchildren and singing to them and never missed a chance to “jitterbug” at any event she went to. She has been a resident of Burbank, CA for the past 8 years where she was able to spend time with her two sons and her grandchildren there.

She was the beloved wife of the late Anthony William DiBacco who died August 30, 2016; the best mom of Anthony (Maria) DiBacco of Fallbrook, CA, Angela (late John) Canfield of Latham and Michael DiBacco of Sherman Oaks, CA; adored grandmother of Gianna and Justina DiBacco, John, Justin and Kaleigh Canfield; dear sister of Mary (late Frank) Aquino of Albany, Amy Cassaro of Cocoa Beach, FL and the late John (late Barbara) Cassaro and Peter (late Bonnie) Cassaro. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
