Obituary for Allan James Burdick
PETERSBURGH – Allan James Burdick, 74, died Tuesday, March 10, 2020 at the Barnwell Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Valatie. He was born, raised and educated in North Pownal, VT the son of the late Lawrence and Ora Jean Bhampney Burdick.
He was a US Army veteran of the Vietnam War serving his country from 1963-1967. He was employed by the Pownal Tannery and General Cable both in Pownal, VT for many years.
He loved the outdoors and was an avid hunter, fisherman and trapper.
He is the husband of Carol J. Ryder Burdick; father of Mary Ann Burdick (late Kenneth) Gardy of Troy, James Allan (Erika) Burdick of Germany and Keith Allan (Shellie) Burdick of Hoosick Falls. He is also survived by 7 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.
He is also survived by four brothers, John (Rita) Burdick, Leeland (Ruth) Burdick, Jerry (Patricia) Burdick and Louie Burdick; five sisters, Mary (Curt) Campbell, Linda (Eddie) Raetz, Lois (Gary) Maxon, Elaine (Randy) Schnoop and Marcia (Ben) Wilson. He was predeceased by a brother, Larry Burdick.
Relatives and friends may attend a funeral service on Wednesday, March 18th at 2:00 pm at the Thomas M. Barber Funeral Home, 66 Armsby Road, Petersburgh, NY.
