Obituary for Gary William Hoffman
CHERRY PLAIN – Gary William Hoffman, 65, died suddenly at his home on Sunday, March 29, 2020.
He was born in Bennington, Vermont on October 16, 1954, the loving son of Luella Goodermote Hoffman of Cherry Plain and the late William Hoffman.
He was raised in Cherry Plain and has been a resident there all of his life. He was a graduate of Berlin High School.
Gary was currently employed by Zwack, Inc. in Stephentown as a machinist where he has worked for over 40 years. He was also a skilled carpenter.
Gary enjoyed cutting wood, mowing his lawn, spending time with his family and being the best grandpa to his grandson, Liam.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his beloved wife, Jean L. Watson Hoffman whom he married on August 13, 1994 in Cherry Plain. He is the loving father of Justin Hoffman (Stephanie Wagar) of Stephentown and Courtney Watson (Phil) of Cherry Plain; proud grandfather of Liam Hoffman; dear brother of Gordon (Bev) Hoffman of Poestenskill and Guy (Marie) Hoffman of Berlin. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held privately for the family with burial in Berlin Community Cemetery.
