Obituary for Marykaye (Manny) Proctor

Green Island- Marykaye Manny Proctor, passed away on February 10, 2021. She was born in Troy on June 8, 1949 and lived in Green Island until her retirement. She was predeceased by her cherished son Timmy, her parents, Ray and Alice Manny, and her much loved nephew Eugene Pelletier, III.

She is survived by her siblings, Patricia Burgess (William) of Chestertown, NY, Ray Manny of Virginia Beach, VA, Donna Cherry (Charles Little) of Colonie, NY, Deborah Gorke (Daniel) of Paradox, NY, Howard Manny (Patricia Joyce) of Niskayuna, NY, and Theresa Bernacki (David) of Malta, NY. Marykaye is also survived by her many adored nieces and nephews and their children.

Marykaye graduated from Catholic Central High School, then enjoyed a career as a fingerprint specialist at NYS DCJS. She was a proud Green Island Democrat, serving as tax collector for several years. After her retirement in 2004, she relocated to Virginia Beach. While there, Marykaye found the love and comfort of being a dog mom. In 2014, Marykaye returned to New York and made her home in Clifton Park.

A Mass to celebrate Marykaye will be held at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church at 2416 7th Avenue in Watervliet on Tuesday, February 16, 2021 at 10 AM, with interment following at St. Patrick’s Cemetery in Watervliet. The public is welcome to attend; due to COVID-19 restrictions, masks and social distancing are required. Anyone wishing to honor Marykaye’s memory may consider donating to the Epilepsy Foundation of NENY, or Homeward Bound Dog Rescue of NY. Both organizations were close to her heart.
