Obituary for Paul E. Campbell

NORTH MYRTLE BEACH, SC - Paul E. Campbell, 78, formerly of Watervliet, passed away Thursday, April 08, 2021 in Myrtle Beach, SC. Born in Troy, New York, he was a son of the late Edward C. and Marjorie (Leonard) Campbell.

He is survived by his wife, Connie Campbell, his daughter, Tammy McFadden and husband Stephen of Peachtree City, GA his son, Michael Campbell and his wife Tabitha of Newnan, GA, and by his six grandchildren, Collin, Karissa, and Kyle McFadden and Jane, Henry, and Brooke Campbell, his brothers, Edward (Susan) Campbell of Sunset Beach, NC, and Mark (Charlene) Campbell of East Greenbush.

Paul was predeceased by his late brothers, Albany County Sheriff James (Patricia) Campbell, Fred “Coach” Campbell and Robert (Tina) Campbell.

Paul was a 1960 graduate of Watervliet High School where he was the president of his Junior and Senior class. He was a starting forward on the WHS 1959 Section II Class B basketball championship team.

Mr. Campbell worked extensively in the property management arena in the upstate New York area for John Hancock Insurance. He was an avid golfer and after moving to the Myrtle Beach area, he worked for 20 years for Barefoot Resort Golf at the Dye course. Paul was a New York Yankee fan since childhood and attended MLB spring training for more than 40 consecutive years.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, April 18th from 3-5 pm at the Parker Bros. Memorial, 2013 Broadway, Watervliet. The funeral service will be Monday, April 19th at 10 am in the funeral home with Rev. Donald L. Rutherford officiating. Burial will be in the Albany Rural Cemetery in Menands.
