Obituary for Georgia Elizabeth Carr (Grube)
Rotterdam – Georgia E. Grube DeLory Carr, 91, of Rotterdam, passed away Thursday morning, June 3, 2021. Born in Baltimore, MD on February 22, 1930, she was the daughter of the late Karl and Elizabeth (Rossman) Grube of Maryland.
Georgia worked at The Boston Store and retired as a switchboard operator from the Turf Inn, Albany. She was an avid bird and people watcher. In her younger years she loved to read, as well as cook and sew for her family.
Georgia was predeceased by her sister Carolyn Walker and two husbands; Daniel R. DeLory and F. Donald Carr. She is survived by her children, Sunny G.E. DeLory and Daniel Ross DeLory, her loving granddaughter Theodora “Tedi” (Dan) Kirker, her beloved great-grandsons; Jordan, Trenton, and Mason Kirker, her brother Herman (Darlene) Grube, and by many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews, as well as by her step-family.
In lieu of flowers, please consider contributions to either Breast Cancer awareness or to a Diabetes Foundation. There will be a celebration of Georgia’s life planned for a later date.
