Obituary for Lillian Ann Schmidt

TROY – Lillian Ann Schmidt, 60, died at home on Thursday, June 16, 2022 with her husband Bill Miles and daughter Amy Miles at her side.

She was born in Nuremberg, Germany on September 17, 1961, the daughter of the late Jack Donald Schmidt and Anna Ahmon Schmidt and step-daughter of John Meade. Lillian came to the United States at the age of 4 and lived in Alaska then Richmond, VA. She met her husband on a bridge in Richmond, VA and moved to Troy in 1986.

Lillian assisted Bill with the operation of Bill Miles Custom Masonry and was instrumental in building up the business. She also worked as a deli clerk at the Price Chopper on Hoosick Street in Troy and later was a stay at home mom.

Lillian loved animals and enjoyed watching the wildlife outside her window. She was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan, loved drinking coffee and was a caretaker for her whole family. Above all, she cherished the time spent with her family and grandchildren.

She is the beloved wife of William A. Miles; loving mother of William (Jessaca) Meade of Richmond, VA, Jessie Pendelton (Andrew Thomas) Shabenas, Charles “C.J.” (Tracy) Bryant of Fort Wayne, IN and Amy (Daniel Eichmann) Miles of Speigletown; step-mother of Dali Kranzthor of Tampa, FL; grandmother Carson Owen Meade, Alexis Musselman, Chandler Bruot, Nakkia Frances Shabenas, Andrew Thomas Shabenas, III, Mason William Hite, Kash Gerring Hite, Nova Joseph Eichmann and Kingsley Lloyd Kranzthor; sister of Martha Powers and William Schmidt of Richmond, VA and the late Dana “Susie” Walker and Donald Jack Schmidt. She is also survived by her cherished dog, Crash and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be Wednesday at 11:00 am at the Parker Bros. Memorial, 2013 Broadway, Watervliet with a calling hour prior to the service on Wednesday from 10-11 am. Interment will follow in Memory Gardens, Colonie.
