Obituary for Dawn Marie Primett

Menands – Dawn Marie Primett, 74, passed away at Samaritan Hospital on June 26, 2022. Born in Albany on March 26, 1948, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Marie Primett.

Dawn worked for the New York State Teachers Retirement System until her retirement in 2007. She also drove an ambulance for Riverside Ambulance and was a dedicated communicant, lector, and Eucharistic Minister at St. Joan of Arc Church in Menands. In her free time Dawn loved to go camping in Schroon River, playing cards with her family, trying her luck at the Saratoga Racino and Turning Stone, and going bowling. Nothing made Dawn happier, however, than spending time with her family and friends.

Dawn is survived by her daughter Becca (Erin) Primett-Van Denburgh of Colonie, her grandchildren; Ryan, Jake, and Kara, her siblings; Dan (Debbie) Primett, Fran (Rose) Primett, Joan (late Ed) Lucey, Susan (John) Potter, and Verna (Jim) Gerrity, and by many loving nieces, nephews, grand-nieces, grand-nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her brother Jim “Cricket” Primett.

A visitation will take place Wednesday, June 29 from 4-7 at Parker Bros. Memorial Funeral Home. A funeral Mass will be celebrated Thursday morning, June 30 at 9 AM at St. Joan of Arc Church, Menands, with interment to follow in St. Agnes Cemetery. Those who wish to remember Dawn in a special way may consider a donation to a charity of one’s choice.
