Obituary for Ernest John Forgette Jr.
Maplewood – Ernest John Forgette, Jr. passed away April 19, 2023. Born in Troy on May 10, 1933, he was the son of the late Ernest Sr. and Sarah (Jewett) Forgette.
Ernest was a longtime resident of both Maplewood and Lake Abanakee. He proudly served his country as a member of the Unites States Army during the Korean War. He worked as an engineer for many years for the state of New York while working on the canal system. In his free time he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and woodworking. He also enjoyed being an environmentalist and an animal lover.
Ernest is survived by his niece Barbara Forgette, his cousins; Tina Pafundi, Mary Sipperly, and Charlene Jewett Tedesco, his special friend Dolores Antinucci, and by other cousins and family friends. He is reunited at the heavenly gates by his beloved canine companion, Rip.
A prayer service will be held Wednesday, April 26, 2023 at 11 AM at Parker Bros. Memorial, Watervliet, with interment to follow in St. Patrick’s Cemetery. A visiting hour will take place before the service, from 10 to 11 AM.
