Obituary for Diane J. Connell (Hagadorn)
WYNANTSKILL â Diane J. Hagadorn Connell, 79, formerly of Troy and Cohoes, died early Sunday morning, May 21, 2023 at Samaritan Hospital in Troy with her loving family at her side.
She was born in Troy on April 23, 1944, the daughter of the late Clarence and Dorothy Echter Hagadorn. Diane was raised and educated in Troy. She was employed as a nurse at Our Lady of Hope Residence in Latham and Van Rensselaer Manor in North Greenbush.
Diane was a NASCAR fan and loved stock car racing. She was an avid sports fan, enjoyed horse racing and bingo. She also was an excellent painter and enjoyed ceramics.
She was the beloved wife of the late Thomas J. Connell, Sr. and dear friend of the late Harry Cullum; loving mother of Judith Merrow, Donald Gleason, Joann Gleason and Thomas âTJâ Connell; adored grandmother of Devonte Gleason, Jordan Gleason, Donald Gleason, Jr., Nakya, Joshua, Tricia and Rich; great grandmother of Amir Gleason and Koen Gleason, her special gift who meant the world to her and who came into her last month of her life; dear sister of William Hagadorn, Mark Hagadorn and the late Ronald Hagadorn.
A graveside service will be held Thursday, May 25th at 10:00 am at Memory Gardens Cemetery, 983 Watervliet-Shaker Road, Colonie. Family and friends can meet at the front entrance prior to the service.
