Obituary for Joseph Frank Pascuzzo
Schenectady – Joseph Frank Pascuzzo, 78, passed away in the comfort of his home on Sunday morning, May 21, 2023. Born in the Bronx on February 14, 1945, he was the son of the late Philip and Dolores (DeNegris) Pascuzzo.
Joe grew up in the Hunts Point neighborhood of the Bronx where he was raised by his grandmother Anna on the family farm. They moved to New Jersey when he was 14 and by the time he was 16 he discovered his life passion; music. From that young age Joe was already singing doo-wop, partaking in group harmony, and even performing at the Apollo Theater with his group “The Connotations”. He was drafted into the US Army during the Vietnam War where he was sent to the Dominican Republic to help ease tension. Upon returning home Joe began a career in printing, even though, believe it or not, he was colorblind. His love for music never left him as he even pressed a record and recorded a jingle for a 7-Up commercial. He also had quite the extensive vinyl record collection he picked up throughout the years. Outside of music, Joe loved watching boxing, going deep sea fishing, and spending time with his family. He was as hard working as they come and passed on many valuable life lessons to his children.
Joe’s memory lives on in his beloved wife of nearly 47 years, Joyce (Schoenfelder) Pascuzzo of Schenectady, his two children; Philip (Laura) Pascuzzo of Delmar and Lisa (Alex) Sherman of Niskayuna, his granddaughters; Ava Rose Pascuzzo, Lillian May Pascuzzo, and Evelyn Marie Sherman, and his loyal canine companion Bella. He was preceded in death by his sister Rose (late Bob) Pereira and by another beloved dog, his husky Luther.
A funeral will be celebrated Saturday, June 3, 2023 at 5:30 PM at Parker Bros. Memorial Funeral Home, Watervliet. All are invited to visit with Joe’s family for an hour before the service, from 4:30 PM to 5:30 PM.
