WATERVLIET – Lena (Iozzi) Pastore, 96, of First Avenue, Watervliet, entered into eternal life on Wednesday, September 27, 2017 at the Teresian House in Albany surrounded by her loving family.

Lena was born in Providence, Rhode Island on October 23, 1920. She was the daughter of the late Joseph and Michelina (Massa) and Catherine (DeLuca) Iozzi. In 1944, Lena moved to Watervliet and was employed by Montgomery Ward and Company in Menands for more than 25 years. She was also a talented seamstress by trade.

Lena enjoyed membership in several local organizations and had previously served in the auxiliaries and as chaplain of both the Watervliet VFW Post # 729 and the Schuyler Heights Fire Company. She was also a member of the Watervliet Elks Lodge and was a devout communicant of the former St. Brigid’s Church in Watervliet where she was a member of the Rosary Society.

Lena was devoted to her family and her home. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren filled her with pride and joy.

She was the beloved wife of the late Samuel A. Pastore; the much loved mother of Michael A. (Catherine) Pastore of Rotterdam, Joseph J. She is also survived by ten great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Lena’s family wishes to offer a heartfelt thank you to the doctors, nurses and staff of the Teresian House who provided Lena with such loving care and offered so much support to her family.
